There’s something special about noticing what others might miss.
Lark & Line Studio began with a quiet kind of curiosity—the kind that draws you outside, slows your steps, and invites you to look a little closer. As a birder, I’ve spent countless hours watching, waiting, and learning to see the subtle beauty in the natural world. Some moments are fleeting. Some, like an Eastern Meadowlark sighting, remain just out of reach—elusive, but inspiring.
Hi, I’m Sonia Sullivan, the designer and illustrator behind Lark & Line’s collections and Feather & Line’s original bird prints. My work is rooted in a sense of wonder and lifelong love of observation: early mornings with binoculars, sketchbooks filled with line work, and a deep appreciation for quiet details. Each collection I create is built with warmth, intention and the kind of story that makes a product feel like it was always meant to exist.
The name Lark & Line holds two meanings that shape the spirit of the studio.
The “lark” is both literal and symbolic—a nod to the birds that inspire my work, and to the idea of creative exploration as something joyful, playful and a little adventurous. A lark as an escapade, a moment of curiosity, a willingness to follow inspiration wherever it leads.
The “line” is where that inspiration takes form.
It's the thread that connects sketch to pattern, observation to final design—intentional, expressive and often intricate. Line is how I interpret the world, and how each piece begins to tell its story.
If you're looking for artwork that feels collected rather than compiled, I'd love to hear what you're working on.
At Lark & Line Studio, we create timeless, nature-led surface pattern collections and illustrations for consumer product brands.
Each collection is thoughtfully designed as a cohesive system—built to translate seamlessly across products like stationery, children’s apparel, and home goods. The goal is to create artwork that feels not only beautiful, but meaningful—something that adds warmth, story and a sense of connection to the products it lives on.
In a fast-moving world of digital imagery, it’s easy for design to feel interchangeable.
I believe the most lasting work feels different.
It feels considered. Human. Collected over time rather than quickly assembled. Inspired by nature, shaped by hand and refined with intention.
Whether created traditionally or digitally, every piece of artwork at Lark & Line Studio is made by a human hand—guided by observation, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the details that make something feel truly special.
My process begins simply: with sketching, studying and exploring line.
From there, each design is carefully developed into a seamless repeat or illustration, with attention to scale, flow and usability across real products. Collections are built with both creativity and application in mind—so they’re not only expressive, but ready to support your production needs.
Lark & Line Studio exists at the intersection of observation and imagination—where nature inspires, line defines, and each collection becomes a small, meaningful story.
If you’re looking for artwork that feels thoughtful, cohesive, and ready to bring to life, I’d love to hear what you are working on.
